Celebrity Like Me

OH BROTHER, Sisters and brothers! What must I do? How long must I strive with Ya'll?

OK. It's not Jane & Joe americAn's fault... I mean, we don't control the media...

What they broadcast is out of our control... right?

I woke up, singing Brittney Spears version of "My Prerogative"... I had a series of thought on this... My first flashed to the video for the song. Spears' stunt double drives the mega-expensive sports ride, into a swimming pool... hey, it's "[her] prerogative"... That song is not that old, you know... (look up the copyright, will you Deary?) Was, she trying to say something with that video? Certainly the lyrics, in retrospect are poinient (for Brown then and Spears now)... Flash forward, to her head shave, and back slightly to her panty-less Vegas outing with Hilton... HMMMM.

No body, mentioned the Star Of David in the media, except me... I can't find one photo of it on the web... (I guess she never wore it... wink- Britney-)... The press was too struck with her scalp, to notice the look in her eyes...

It seems americAns are that way...

They notice what ever the media wants them to, and nothing else... sigh...

Maybe, we like that these millionaire starlets have problems... like me. Like you.

The thing is, despite the medias focus... And the publics lack of it... There is a reason that these girls act this way.

First of all, they are just friggin kids... give me a break. Who the hell hasn't gotten high, and done something risk-A in Vegas? Yes... it's true, Spears was naked most of her life. An object, out the starting gate. That's why this photo by David LaChapelle featured above is so brilliant. He makes a startling statement... Britney Spears was and IS molested by the camera. By the industry. By America. The contrast between the little girls room, and the little girls sexy outfit speaks volumes, to a blind, deaf, and dumb audience... Why does she use drugs? To cope with this... Hang in Brit, you're gonna be fine.

Then I flashed on Lohans lyrics. The first time I listen to this song, I wept a little for her... Perhaps if americAns were more in tune as to what might motivate behavior, rather then the acting out it's self, they would be far less titilated by these young women. Please read Lindsay Lohan's lyrics, and try to see where she is coming from:

----Confessions Of A Broken Heart

I wait for the postman to bring me a letter
I wait for the good Lord to make me feel better
And I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders
A family in crisis that only grows older

Why'd you have to go?

Daughter to father, daughter to father
I am broken but I am hoping
Daughter to father, daughter to father
I am crying, a part of me is dying and
These are, these are
The confessions of a broken heart

And I wear all your old clothes, your polo sweater
I dream of another you
The one who would never (never)
Leave me alone to pick up the pieces
A daddy to hold me, that's what I needed

Why'd you have to go!!

Daughter to father, daughter to father
I don't know you, but I still want to
Daughter to father, daughter to father
Tell me the truth, did you ever love me
Cause these are, these are
The confessions of a broken heart

I love you,
I love you
I love you
I....!!!!!
I love you!!

I wait for the postman to bring me a letter..

As for Hilton, I just want to say, she too, was abandoned. Though her GAZILLIONAIRE daddy never left physically... You can't raise an empire, and daughters at the same time... or can you?

So, why do the tabloids sizzle about these three young women becoming friends? What makes you a friend with someone? Common background, is it not?

Ladies, I know as well as you do, that, there is no way you're not going to be filmed and photoed. I would just encourage you to seek a level of transparency where it counts. Alone in your rooms. The media wont tell the truth... but your still small voice will.
