The Nazarites. A sect of devout 'monks', who adhered so vehemently to the Mossiac Law, that they found it impossible to practice their faith in the midst of the modern congregation. Here was a kid that didn't fit in. Not with fellow kids, not even with his family.

No, he marched to the sound of the progressive rhythms in his head.

His heart longed for the day he was to make a difference amongst his beloved people.


He was the nephew of Christ's mother. So, needless to say, he had showmanship in his blood. More importantly, he had devotion in his very core. Destiny. The Nazarites where the only people, that John could be with...

Being 'weird' aint easy...

He was so wild, that his own band couldn't understand him, a shaman amongst witchdoctors, if you will...

His urge, was to beat new paths thru the brush... to reach those, who the so-called "Teachers" alienated. I believe, often, they talked down to the common folk, to deliberately keep them from being in the 'word', and keep them from 'polluting' the temple.




So, enter John, eating mushrooms, wild honey, & locust... Tripping on the spirit, the Baptist spent his adult life, composing sermons... He had the urge for talking. For singing. For reaching... furthermore, he had the chops...

John Baptist was the Original Rock Star...


G-d sent him out first.

To prepare the way for his royal blooded cousin.

When Christ showed up, John felt unworthy to even be in His presence... this is a guy who had been decrying unholy behaviour, and restoring truth to the confused and befuddled... He was, if anything, worthy, to be in Jesus' Group. Yet, still he humbled himself... Knowing that, with Jesus Christ on lead guitar, he need only lay down sweet, soulful, rhythm... and Christ would take it to the next level.


After that fateful day, the 'boys', Jesus the Nazarene, and John the Nazarite, split company. Each going on to preach to the myriad of hungry rock fans...

Lyrics flowed from the Prophets. Psalms examined under new light...


These two cats changed the face of Israel, from perplexed to enlightened. Changed the face of Rome, from proudly powerful to worrisome. Changed the face of the pious, from falsely peaceful and smug, to contorted and rage red... They changed it up all right... when something was wrong... they shouted it out. When charged with imaginary crimes, they did the time... changing faces, from pale from incarceration to bright with inner light...

When you threaten to upset a worldly system, the world threatens to stop you...

Both these outcast Rockstars, met untimely and gruesome deaths...

Not before they changed the world for the better... made an eternal difference...

















Man, if only someone had the balls to go out and do this today... Stand on the edge...

Q. What is superstition?

A. Originally the word superstition meant something like "standing still in apprehension or awe," but since has been rather watered down in its application and use. According to the writer Raymond Lamont Brown: "Superstition is a belief, or system of beliefs, by which almost religious veneration is attached to things mostly secular; a parody of religious faith in which there is belief in an occult or magic connection."

Another way to put it is that superstition is an irrational or nonscientific belief in the existence of certain powers operant in the world, with positive or ill (usually ill) effects, and therefore a concomitant belief in the counter-effects of amulets, tokens and such, and the power of certain actions (or avoidance of some actions, such as not walking under a ladder) to diminish or deflect these ill effects and/or to promote the positive influence (i.e. crossing one's fingers, or rubbing a beneficent stone, for good luck) of these indeterminate and usually unnamed powers.

A few other familiar examples:

* Breaking a mirror will result in years of bad luck.
* The number 13 is "unlucky" and the numbers 7 and 9 are "lucky."
* It will bring you bad luck if you step on the cracks in a sidewalk.
* Finding a four-leaved clover will be a boon to your fortune.

"Mirza plays down Peer pairing

LONDON, June 28 (Reuters) - India's Sania Mirza hopes her decision to renew her doubles partnership with Israel's Shahar Peer at Wimbledon does not stir up another religious storm.

"We're playing tennis, we're not making statements. We're just here to play tennis and we're here to perform and be the best we can be," the Indian number one said on Thursday.

"Me and Shahar are playing just like the way me and (Eva) Birnerova played the French Open, just like the way I played with anyone else the last six weeks. It doesn't make any statement."

The last time Mirza, a Muslim, joined forces with Peer at the 2005 Japan Open, their association was short-lived.

Under pressure from militants furious over a Muslim and a Jew playing together, Mirza called for some time out.

She hopes their second stab at success will be remembered more for their on-court exploits.

"We've grown up together. We're great friends. So we said, why not?" said Mirza, who comes from the southern Indian city of Hyderabad.

"We were both very lucky to find each other because it's someone who suits each other's game. I have a big forehand, she has a big backhand. We've done well in the past.

"We really don't care whether she's from Israel or I'm from Pakistan. At the end of the day it matters whether we win a match or not."

Doubles partnerships between Muslim and Jewish players have not gone down too well in the past.

In 2002, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was threatened with a suspension from Pakistan's tennis federation when he entered the Wimbledon men's doubles with Israel's Amir Hadad.

The partnership won the duo a humanitarian award from the organisers of men's tennis but Mirza does not want any similar recognition.

"I'm here to play tennis and so is she. That's the end of that. It has nothing to do with anything else," she said.

The 16th seeds face American Lisa Osterloh and Sweden's Sofia Andersson in the first round.

I Was There, Ed...

Heal, Dear One. I just want you to know, Ed. I was there. I stood outside and meditated, that warm early winters day in Las Vegas. In perfect voice, there was no doubt I could have had it "all" that day. I had been given the gift of you... But it was choice I had to make, and one that did not come lightly. Death In Darfur: Why isn't the Main Stream Press covering this 4 Year old genocide?

I know I said GDii is coming to a close, and so she is, but not yet. Just a few more important items to be reported. I will probably make the last post, the Wikipedia biography of Jesse Stevens. It was He, who has alerted me to this "crisis" in the Sudan. (Amazing how the word crisis has lost all impact in americA... what C.S. Lewis called "verbicide"; when a word is used so much or so wrongly, for so long it looses all meaning. I don't want the word verbicide, to distract you from the more important word here: GENOCIDE. Genocide, too, has fallen victim to verbicide... but more on that later...).


I have heard precious little about this massacre in the press. Especially considering it is 4 years in the making. I have heard absolutely nothing about the Dictator Bashir, who is "brain" behind the mass murder.


I have however, found many statistics about the killing, on the web. The absolute best site for info on the US Gov't and lack of action is from the blogosphere. I recommend that readers of Groove Damage, spend some time researching this tragedy that "must be stopped"... but in all honesty, probably will not be, (due to the dollars to be made by our "allies". Oil in Sudan is plentiful, but China owns the controlling interest. A report titled: "PetroChina, CNPC, and Sudan:

The following is from the report by the Sudan Divestment Task Force:

"In 2003, the Government of Sudan initiated genocide against its own civilians from several
tribes in the country's Darfur region. For four years the regime in Khartoum has resisted
diplomatic and political overtures to change its behavior. As a result, the international
community must now use its financial leverage with a regime that has historically proven
responsive to economic pressure and that relies on investments from a handful of foreign
oil companies to finance its growing military expenditures. Chief among Khartoum's
corporate sponsors is China's state-owned oil company, China National Petroleum
Corporation (CNPC). CNPC's majority-owned, publicly-traded subsidiary, PetroChina, lists
on the Hong Kong and New York Stock Exchanges."

So it's my understanding that the Chinese have invested 30% of funds gathered in the Sudan, in the NY Stock Exchange. By trading in NY, PetroChina can invest in it's self... 70-80% of the (O-I-L) funds gathered by Bashir, are used to finance this massacre.


Here in americA, narly nothing is being done. In fact, according to the Sudan Divestment Task Force, no state action is taking place in Utah, along with 16 other US States. Apparently the feds have mentioned this in brief. Though, I never heard Bush mention the Sudan. Why isn't Bashir listed as public enemy #2, in our so called "war on terror"? Good question, considering that Bin Ladin was a resident of the Sudan from 90-95. In fact, according to Jesse Stevens, it is there, that he formed the Taliban.

How is this able to go on in the world, and our "media" not spend equal time on it?

Can you see how the deception is linked to money? Maybe the US troops aren't pulling triggers and killing the the tribes of Darfur. But how many of those weapons used were made and traded by the United States? China is one of our biggest (no pun intended) allies. They are giving what one might call "kick backs", into the stock exchange.

Do I have to ask why nothing is being done?

Astronomers have recorded heavenly music bellowed out by the Sun's atmosphere.

Snagging orchestra seats for this solar symphony would be fruitless, however, as the frequency of the sound waves is below the human hearing threshold. While humans can make out sounds between 20 and 20,000 hertz, the solar sound waves are on the order of milli-hertz--a thousandth of a hertz.

The study, presented this week at the Royal Astronomical Society's National Astronomy Meeting in Lancashire, England, reveals that the looping magnetic fields along the Sun's outer regions, called the corona, carry magnetic sound waves in a similar manner to musical instruments such as guitars or pipe organs.

Making music

Robertus von Fay-Siebenburgen of the Solar Physics and Space Plasma Research Center at the University of Sheffield and his colleagues combined information gleaned from sun-orbiting satellites with theoretical models of solar processes, such as coronal mass ejections.

They found that explosive events at the Sun's surface appear to trigger acoustic waves that bounce back and forth between both ends of the loops, a phenomenon known as a standing wave.

"These magnetic loops are analogous to a simple guitar string," von Fay-Siebenburgen explained. "If you pluck a guitar string, you will hear the music."

In the cosmic equivalent of a guitar pick, so-called microflares at the base of loops could be plucking the magnetic loops and setting the sound waves in motion, the researchers speculate. While solar flares are the largest explosions in the solar system, microflares are a million times smaller but much more frequent; both phenomena are now thought to funnel heat into the Sun's outer atmosphere.

The acoustic waves can be extremely energetic, reaching heights of tens of miles, and can travel at rapid speeds of 45,000 to 90,000 miles per hour. "These [explosions] release energy equivalent to millions of hydrogen bombs," von Fay-Siebenburgen said.

"These energies are plucking these magnetic strings or standing pipes, which set up standing waves--exactly the same waves you see on a guitar string," von Fay-Siebenburgen told SPACE.com. The "sound booms" decay to silence in less than an hour, dissipating in the hot solar corona.

Solar physics

The musical finding could help explain why the Sun's corona is so hot.

While the Sun's surface is a steamy 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,538 degrees Celsius), plasma gas in the corona soars to more than 100 times hotter.

"How can the atmosphere above the surface of the Sun be hotter if nuclear fusion happens inside the Sun?" von Fay-Siebenburgen said. If astronomers can get a clearer picture of what's going on inside these magnetic loops in the Sun's atmosphere, they have a better chance of finding the answer.

Another recent study using images from Hinode's telescope revealed twisted magnetic fields along the Sun's surface, which store huge amounts of energy. The magnetic fields can snap like a rubber band; when they do, they might release energy that could heat up the corona or power solar eruptions and coronal mass ejections, the researchers say. "
